Gunnhildur Einarsdóttir started studying the harp and piano at age 13 in Iceland. After graduation from the Conservatory of Reykjavík, she continued her studies with Brigitte Sylvestre at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, with Sioned Williams in London and with Erika Waardenburg at the Conservatory of Amsterdam between 1996 and 2004. She received her Bachelor’s Degree with Distinction and a Master of Music with specialization in both contemporary and early music performance. 

 Gunnhildur has performed at many festivals throughout Europe, such as Spaziomusica Cagliari, Italy, Myrkir Músíkdagar Reykjavík, World Harp Conference Dublin. She is a regular member of Trio Artis, Isafold Chamber Orchestra and the Scandinavian trio Norn. As a freelance player she has performed with Ensemble Modern, Caput Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra Reykjavík and others. She is currently working on her doctorate at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
